Dr. Clay Evans
Ordained as a Baptist Minister in 1950, this illustrious Founding Pastor of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago, Illinois, is received internationally as a pioneer, church father, and ministerial pacesetter. His work has earned him countless citations, accolades and honors, including, many Honorary Doctorates of Divinity Degrees from various institutions of higher learning throughout the country.
Reverend Dr. Clay Evans has been responsible for launching the ministerial careers of ninety-three people, including Mother Consuella York the first female to be ordained in the Baptist Denomination in Chicago. He has been aleader in the Civil Rights Movement since 1965.
Dr. Evans is the Founding National Board Chairman of the Rainbow (PUSH) Coalition (founded by Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr.). He held this position for five years (1971-1976). He is also the Founding President of the Broadcast Ministers’ Alliance of Chicago (BMA), the Founding President and Chairman ofthe African American Religious Connection (AARC) from 1989 to 2006, and Board Member of the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A. Inc
Dr. Evans’ signature voice has been heard on many albums with the awarding winning Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church Combined Choirs, and Recording Choir of the African American Religious Connection (AARC).
Dr. Evans is an accomplished author who has penned several books that provide authentic wisdom and spiritual inspiration. Some of them include; From Plough Handle to Pulpit, A Chat with the Elder, Gateway to an AbundantLife, and a book of Sermons of Inspiration entitled “It is No Secret What God Can Do.”
Dr. Evans retired on December 8, 2000 as the Pastor of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, passing the mantle to his personally groomed successor, Reverend Charles Jenkins. Although retired as Pastor, he continuesto be heralded a Servant of God as he continues to serve mankind spiritually,socially, and civically. Dr. Evans irrefutably remains one of the most sought-after preachers within Christendom.

The Barrett Sisters
Thhe Barrett Sisters made their first appearance on radio and television in the 1960s. They have appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Bobby Jones Show," "Living the Dream," a television tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, PBS special "Going Home to Gospel with Patti LaBelle," along with Gospel Queen Albertina Walker, and the "PTL Club." They've been featured several times on the locally produced Emmy Award winning "Jubilee Showcase." They have appeared on The StellarAwards, which included accepting 2009 Walgreens' Ambassador Bobby Jones Legend Award. They are featured in the 2010 concert film "The Barrett Sisters in Concert," as well as the 2013 documentary, "The Sweet Sisters of Zion: Delois Barrett Campbell & The Barrett Sisters," directed by Regina Renee Davis.
In 1982, The Barrett Sisters were featured in the critically acclaimed documentary "Say Amen, Somebody," which features Willie Mae Ford Smith, Sallie Martin, Thomas A. Dorsey, The O'Neal Twins, and Zella Jackson Price written by lionized New Yorker film critic Pauline Kael.
Posthomous Dr. Charles G. Hayes
Pastor Charles George Hayes, the third child and second son of Mamie Lee and Will Hayes, was born December 10, 1937, in Verbena, Alabama. He received his primary education at Siluria Jr. High School (Alabama) and his secondary education at Prentice High School (Montevallo, Alabama). He migrated to Chicago, Illinois in 1955 and became a Church Musician.
Pastor Hayes was ordained in the Ministry on August 31, 1957.He organized Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer on April 28, 1959. Pastor Hayes was under the leadership of many great pioneers such as Prophet L. K. Johnson, Pastor Clarence Cobbs, Bishop Louis Boddie, Bishop Anderson, Pastor Franklin, and others.
Father of two, and grandfather, Pastor Hayes became affectionately known as "Father Hayes" because of his paternal qualities, his compassion, his concern for, and interest in people.
Dr. Hayes received his Doctorate Degree from Religious Science Institute in December 1973 and received an Honorary Doctorate of Human Letters from St. Martins College and Seminary, September, 1974.
Dr. Hayes was currently one of the longest serving Pastor of one church in Chicago for going on 55 years come April 2014. Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer has been listed as a landmark church in the Chicago Area.
Dr. Hayes was very passionate with is ministry, not compromising with the devil and is known for speaking the truth - declaring the word of God. He was very involved with every aspect of the church for he put his all into this ministry. He was rooted and grounded in "traditional" gospel and you could catch him singing, preaching, teaching and praying on any given Sunday , adding his humorous touch but still telling it like it is.
Dr. Hayes was known for 'Making A Joyful Noise", leading such hits as He's Keeping Me, I'll Never Forget, I Know The Lord Laid His Hands On Me, Before I Take It Back, Everything's Alright, How I Got Over, My Lord and Master, and many, many more.
The phrase coined by Dr. Hayes, is ever so truth “Change Your Attitude and Your Thinking, And You'll Change Your Whole Life”.
